Journey to Perth and a blether with a friend

The Sons of Scotland Pipe Band from Ottawa were happy to include the town of Perth to their journey to Scotland this summer, and had the wonderful opportunity to visit Scone Palace and spend time with their friend and long time supporter, Brother Ron Drummond, and his family.  Since moving back to Scotland, Ron has settled in very well to his hometown of Aberdeen, and the band appreciates them all taking time to drive to Perth and spend a lovely, sunny afternoon with the pipers and drummers.  We are so pleased to have spent time with Ron and his family, …

B in the Park, Ottawa, ON

On a beautiful summer’s eve we attended a concert called “B in the Park” at Major’s Hill Park in downtown Ottawa. Organized by the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band and running for the past 13 years, our oldest civilian pipe band hosted two other visiting bands on route to the Maxville Highland Games. What a perfect night to listen to the Rocky Mountain Pipe Band of Calgary and the Viscount Park Pipe Band of Edmonton.
